Chrome Extension Permissions
Atntiv uses a minimal, transparent set of Chrome permissions. Each permission exists for a single purpose and is restricted by Chromeβs security model.
Permissions We Use
-
π
Host permissions (Teams only)
Allows the extension to run exclusively on
teams.microsoft.comandteams.live.com.The extension cannot see or access any other website.
-
π§©
Scripting
Used to read caption text already rendered in the meeting page.
No files, inputs, or page content outside captions are accessed.
-
πΎ
Storage
Stores temporary session identifiers and local preferences.
Meeting content is not saved in Chrome storage.
What We NEVER Collect
- ποΈ Audio recordings or microphone input
- πΉ Video streams or camera access
- π₯οΈ Screen contents or screen recordings
- π Files, downloads, or clipboard data
- π Browsing history or activity outside Teams
- π€ Personal profile or account data
Chrome enforces these limits at the browser level. Atntiv cannot bypass them.
Why These Permissions Exist
Atntiv operates only on text already visible in your meeting. Permissions allow Chrome to safely expose that text, nothing more.
This approach keeps the extension lightweight, auditable, and compliant with Chrome Web Store policies.
If Chrome Blocks the Extension
If permissions are denied or modified, the extension may not activate.
